What's your experience coaching teams toward being Agile?

I have been working with agile practices for the past four years, first as an independent consultant, then as Managing Director for Pillar Technologies, then as an independent consultant again.

During my time at Pillar, I was responsible for bringing all of our projects in the Michigan area in line with Pillar's brand of Agile (S2V) — sometimes with resources that had no agile experience in the past. I can't say that all my efforts were successful, but I learned a lot about what works and doesn't work with agile teams in the process.

What do you plan to learn /explore at this conference?

I would like to learn more techniques for explaining Agile concepts particularly during classroom style training sessions.

How do you plan to contribute?

I am at the beginning stages of assisting a major financial company in SE Michigan with their agile transformation. They have already adopted Scrum, but have not taken up any developer level practices, and will be making a major push to do so this year.

During this transformation, I will be conducting a couple of "experiments" around language choice, supported by real-world metrics and data. I would like to share my efforts with the agile community.
