What's your experience coaching teams toward being Agile?

I started my agile journey 8 years back when my company decided to adopt Agile. I have been learning since then and i pass on my learning to the teams i work with. I give sessions on various aspects of Agile and try to debunk various myths associated with it. I have worked with various teams both co-located and distributed and handled various challenges we face when teams try to be Agile. I have seen my teams transforming from kanban to Scrum to Safe Agile. Its been a roller-coaster ride of transformation, unlearn and learn from mistakes and being Agile in true sense. I have worked as a Scrum Master, Product Owner and Agile Coach. I was part of first responder team which helps team in on-boarding Agile train.

What do you plan to learn/explore at this conference?

During my journey as a change agent i have seen many times organizations trying to make a team Agile while not fully surrendering to the idea of being an Agile organization which creates a lot of issues and conflicts. We have leaders still working in Waterfall mindset while using Agile as a tool to push teams which in turn does more damage than benefit. I want to explore how to change the mindset of leaders who partially adopt Agile and cherry pick the aspects which help them but don't empower the team.

How do you plan to contribute?

I have diverse experience of working in various Agile methodologies and i have seen teams growing over time, i can contribute with my learning accumulated over this period of transformation. I have experience working in Service based organization and Product based companies in India, USA and Switzerland, I have experienced their work culture and change in mindset working in onshore offshore locations. I can share my success and failure stories and learn from others with their experiences.
