Agile Learning Games

In this session Chris Sims shared a ball-passing game that allows teams to quickly get the feel of: estimation, self-organization, and iterative improvement (inspect and adapt).

Chris also shared a game call "That's Knot Agile", in which a team of 8 participants are tied into a human knot. Various 'experts' outside the team are allowed to lead the team out of the knot. After these have failed, the team is allowed to figure it out for themselves, which happened very quickly in this case.

Deborah Hartmann shared an excellent game that pit 3 teams 'against' each other in an attempt to organize chairs.

Participants also played a penny-flipping game that explored what can happen when local optimizations actually hurt the over-all performance of a group.
