What's your experience coaching teams toward being Agile?
I have worked for Menlo Innovations for about 6 years so far, and have served in a multitude of roles – developer, project manager, software factory floor manager (i.e. “The Factory Frauâ€), and now as the Evangelist in Residence. In each of those roles I’ve had the opportunity to coach my peers in how we apply agile across the board at Menlo. In some occasions I’ve even been fortunate enough to coach our clients.
What do you plan to learn /explore at this conference?
I’m curious whether or not (and how) other software shops have applied the XP practices to the “other†roles within the organization – business analysts and PMs, for example. I’d like to hear their experiences and share my thoughts on it, based on my experiences at Menlo actually doing XP and adopting the XP practices to these other roles.
How do you plan to contribute?
I plan to share my experience and advice based on my work with Menlo Innovations LLC, an agile (XP) shop in Ann Arbor. While I think I’m smarter than the average bear
, I tend to be an inquisitive person so I will undoubtedly ask lots of questions of those around me. I'm very much looking forward to this event.
