How do we grow Agile teams in an organization?
- start with one team and get feedback on what is working or we run into Weinberg's "Law of Raspberry Jam"
- splitting a high functioning team into two smaller teams does not work well either
- use the principle that created Golden Gate Park in San Fransisco -> create little areas of growth & green in the sand dunes and slowly make those areas bigger.
How do you find the customer's pain point? And want can you fix?
How to structure the gig?
- do not go in offering an assessment -> offering training since it is less threatening
- package your services as something they want to buy
- start with 2-3 days of initial meeting for evaluation and Q-n-A sessions
What is better? Daily rates vs hourly rates? -> with daily rates sometimes your "day" becomes 14 hours long
Does the customer buy a chunk of your time vs paying a fixed fee?
Customer pays for your travel time, normally at half rate.
The more painful the customer experience, the more the rate.
